With the exception of a few little mounds of snow here and there, the sun is shining, grass is showing {despite its dead, lack luster appearance} and fresh air is being enjoyed! This is what New England is all about. I think enjoying and living through the change in seasons makes you appreciate the beauty of the things around you even more. After all, we’ve had what, 3 months of being cooped up inside looking at our walls that are in dire need of a new paint job, right? Has anyone else heard the birds back in full chorus? This is what it’s all about!
I have to share one of my favorite conversations of the week had while at lunch today.
Aiden and Chris decided that since the sun was shining, it was time to pull out their spring coats. I choose my battles these days and agreed to letting them wear them outside today as long as they wore a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. Aiden looks at his coat, noting the camouflage liner and says “cool, look Chrissy, mine has camo which makes me a camel.” He then looks over to Chris’s coat which is lined with plaid material and says “Chrissy, yours has plaid so you get to be a platypus!” Chris was not thrilled with the idea and quickly reminded Aiden that it is just a design. I couldn’t help but chuckle.
We’ve had a busy week. Mike’s been working and traveling and yesterday I went for my regular OB check up. I am happy say that things are going well. Our little man is growing and has officially been “hatching” for longer than Aiden and Chris did. Such a good feeling! Sleep at night is nonexistent but thankfully my four year olds don’t judge me when I make up my own words and find myself doing goofy things. I’ve gained just about another pound and love hearing that I can and should eat whatever I want {only a few more weeks to take advantage of that!} I am measuring perfectly, feeling tons of movement and don’t have any signs of preclampsia. My eating habits are a bit boring and I don’t have any fun cravings but at this point I’m okay with that. I’ll be back in 2 weeks to check the babies position and from there, we’ll be getting close… super close!
Here’s a preview of our happy looking boys in our sorry looking driveway…. (Chris, L and Aiden, R)
