38 Weeks and going strong?

Apparently our little man has not received the memo about the gorgeous weather OUTSIDE…. otherwise, I’m confident he would be here by now!  Yes, I am still pregnant and not sure that I can honestly say that I am still “going strong.” This busy little boy is keeping me company at night for 2-4 hours with an additional 4 bathroom visits.  It’s safe to say that while life is quiet and simple now, I would much rather be enjoying his sweet little face at those hours of the night then being pelted in the stomach and ribs by various flailing body parts.  We are ready to meet him!  In fact, I think I have made this last month drag on forever since I felt the need to be ready at week 34 just in case and here we are 4 1/2 weeks later, still ready… just in case.  I know, I know, he will come…. when he’s ready.  I am just ready to get this pushing over with :)

So we’ve kept our calendar open…. just in case…. and it’s been perfectly gorgeous outside and we’ve been enjoying it.  Aiden and Chris have been great sports about playing in the driveway while I supervise from a comfy chair.  It is amazing what fresh air can do  for moods.  Settling back into the school routine has brought with it may new fun versions of name calling but having our schedule open has been fun and relaxing and I am doing my best to enjoy every last minute alone with my two little big boys.

I had my 38 week appointment on Tuesday and this little man isn’t showing any signs of wanting to appear anytime soon.  I’m only 1-1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced.  I guess the yard work last weekend lulled him back to him back to sleep.  Let’s just hope he arrives while he’s still on my good side!  We’ll keep you posted!
