I can honestly say that I never anticipated making it to 39 weeks. Last week flew by. Living day to day, thinking that maybe each day would be “go” day passed time surprisingly quickly. And here we are one week later, still going strong. Many braxton hicks later with no other signs of labor, I’m quite sure that this little man’s stay has been made all too comfortable. If trimming the hedges and raking the trimmings or a 12 mile walk {yes, I was feeling desperate} don’t bring on labor, I’m not sure what will. As a matter of fact, both activities lulled this little stinker to sleep.
Aiden and Chris have had a great week {okay, well maybe with the exception WWIII when Chris dead bolted me down cellar this morning after I informed him that we didn’t have any ice cream sandwiches. That’s totally justified, right?!? Two words. TIME. OUT}. Again, it’s been quiet but no one is complaining :)
Yesterday we got to meet Mamie and Grandpa’s newest addition, Sam I am. A sweet, adorable 4 month old puppy that they rescued. He has a wonderful nature and is great with the kids. We were all so excited to see him and of course, excited to have a quick visit with Mamie and Grandpa as well.
We headed out yesterday afternoon for a walk to the playground. Although the sun was hiding, it was great to get some fresh air and sneak peaks of warmth.
Today we were thrilled to meet our friends the Locke’s at the Summer House in Southwick for lunch. We all truly enjoy their family and the kiddos get along really well which makes getting together exciting for everyone. Despite the lack of sunshine, the kids loved being outside and stayed busy and warm playing while we enjoyed catching up. A win for all of us! After lunch we headed to Mamie and Grandpa’s to visit. The boys were thrilled to see the puppy again who has been renamed “Blue” because he is part blue tick coon hound and having two dogs named Sam was getting a bit confusing. Blue truly is so gentle and sweet. The boys went for a mini hike with Grandpa and Blue and thought it was hysterical that Blue jumped in the stream. Silly pup! Mike enjoyed part of the Masters tournament there and I enjoyed visiting before we packed up and headed home to wind down before the week begins.
Here’s to another quietish week until this little man makes his grand appearance!
