Aiden and Chris had a special treat, skipping school this morning due to an overlap with school dismissal and Jake’s pediatrician's appointment. The lucky ducks got to relax and enjoy a quiet, rainy Monday morning at home with Mamie while I snuck out with the little guy. I was so very grateful to have Mamie over to watch Aiden and Chris as all moms know well that when you take a healthy toddler to the Dr.’s, they are bound to pick up some kind of special germs along the way, bring them back to the Dr,’s in no time themselves. There just doesn’t seem to be enough germy gel in the world some days.
We had a busy but fun week. Thursday we had a visit from Diane, a friend from church and Aiden and Chris were very excited to show her all of their toys, new clothes and their bedroom of course. Poor little fellows are starved for attention and jump on every visitor that steps inside… UPS delivery men are no exception!
Friday we packed a picnic lunch and headed to visit Babci with Grammie and Dziadzu after school. We had a great visit and were lucky enough to see my Aunt Teresa who was in visiting from Ohio as well. Unfortunately my lack of navigational skills landed us with a VERY LONG trip home…. Thankfully my passengers were all good sports and were all very forgiving and Grammie was in tow to be my peace maker. Darn GPS is too old to be much help and my old, over tired brain has been turned off for far too long to function properly. Our 40 minute drive turned into a 2 hour maze…. Ooops.
Friday night I was excited to sneak out with Jacob for a quick walk with my friend Leeanne and Leora. It was the perfect night for a walk and it felt great to be out but unfortunately Jake decided he would rather eat then walk so my visit got cut short. Thankfully I have forgiving friends!
Saturday morning Aiden and Chris had the final “Fun for Fours” recreation class. They learned to dribble the soccer ball and practiced some t-ball skills. Always nice when the kiddos can burn some energy. We headed home for lunch and headed back out for some playtime at the park.
Yesterday Mike took the boys fishing and I took advantage of some quiet time at home with Jake to get a few chores done. We were thrilled to have Auntie Stephie visit for the afternoon. Poor Auntie’s window blew out on her trip here and on a rainy, rainy day no less. Jacob loved meeting her and Aiden and Chris had all kinds of special tricks to show her. The boys woke up asking when Auntie would visit again. If only we could gather up all of our relatives and move them all to Suffield, life would be beyond amazing.
Tomorrow it’s back to the good old grind with 4 weeks left of school. We’ve got a special treat in store for Aiden and Chris for Friday. I’ll be sure to fill you in!
Above: Aiden, L & Chris, R at our trip to Northwest Park yesterday. With weather to die for, you MUST take advantage!
