I am truly feeling so full of excuses for why I haven’t been committed to my blogging. This one, I promise is legit. Believe it or not, my computer was down and out AGAIN for almost a week! I was the lucky recipient of a wonderful virus that totally locked my computer and wasn’t easy to resolve. After several attempts myself and over a day with a professional, my computer was finally rebooted, cleaned up and back in working order and here I am today. Boy oh boy did I miss it!
Schools out! Summer officially commenced Friday afternoon and while Aiden and Chris don’t quite comprehend the whole idea of having several weeks off, they were very excited about the idea.. a little confused come Monday morning but when I suggested that they wear their uniforms just for the fun of it, they were happy to remind me that there isn’t a need since school is OUT! Boy oh boy are they excited about the thought of being “second year” students when they return {Their classroom is ages 3-5}.
Aiden, L; Chris, R…. Can’t remember the reason for the killer look… maybe I’m getting too familiar with it to notice, lol.
Jacob is officially 2 months old. Bittersweet for certain. I don’t know how my lil guy is growing up so quick! In honor of his two month birthday, he decided to pull out some tricks and rolled from his belly to his back 3 times as I tried to take a picture. Certainly a surprise for Momma! He is loving making conversation and loves being held {to the point where I am creating a monster that doesn’t want to be put down…. shame… on… me…. but I’m enjoying every minute of it!} There is nothing sweeter than waking up to the sound of baby coo’s. Tomorrow we head to the pediatrician's for his two month check up and I’m oh so anxious to hear how he’s progressed.
This past weekend we headed to Belchertown to celebrate Father’s Day a bit early with Dziadzu. Mike had to work for the day so we made the most of our time and stayed busy, attending a bubbology program at the library in the morning before heading to MA and then back to CT for a picnic with friends at night. It was a jam packed, fun filled day… just how we like it!
Aiden, L loving Grammies wild flowers {gorgeous, aren’t they?!?}, the fam and Dziadzu {proud Polock} with Chris
Sunday we surprised Mike with breakfast in bed {not so sure about the surprise part as the excitement was hard to contain and the sound levels escalated as a result!} We relaxed for a bit at home before heading to Mamie’s and Grandpa’s to celebrate. Uncle Andrew and Melissa got to meet Jake for the first time and we were thrilled to see our adorable little nieces, Ivy and Rose. Life is good. We are so blessed with three amazing Dad’s in our lives; Mike, Grandpa and Dziadzu!
Monday Jake took his first attempted nap in his real crib. I say attempted because it was short lived and not well loved but the attempts will continue as we are home. I think the tough thing about summer is that you try to stay busy but in doing so, its hard to have consistency for napping and hard to establish a routine with a newborn. Something to work on for sure.
Yesterday the boys went to Mamies in the afternoon and had a special surprise and slept over. What a treat for all of us! As Christopher said “that’s what summer is all about.” They had pancakes, waffles and a trip to Stanley Park. How lucky are we????
Here is some tub time fun. A & C almost fill the bath! {Aiden, L & Chris, R}
Happy Summer everyone!
