While our blessings still far surpassed our challenges last week, the challenges seemed to be surmounting. Topping the charts was Aiden put his head through my glass china cabinet.  Thankfully, he only suffered a minor cut to his hand and Auntie Laura was visiting and a willing cleaner upper.  Thank you Auntie!

Runner up….The basement flooded.  Thankfully I caught the water in time to save much of the playroom.  We were even more thankful for foam flooring that could be quickly ripped up and dried out just as quickly.  So…. several projects later, we are pulling the room back together and keeping a closer eye on our humidifier.  The culprit for the flood.  Funny how a tipped humidifier would do that (not!)  Life is full of lessons learned I guess.

So we are back on track this week health wise and accident wise and we are staying busy making up for all of the plans that we rescheduled.  Swim lessons began on Monday at the Suffield Country Club.  The boys are loving it and I only wish I had started them sooner.  We may just have to sneak in a few lessons this fall or winter if we can but we have two weeks of fun ahead of us and hopefully continued interest and stronger swimmers.

We have a few exciting things coming up that are keeping us busy.  Mike and Drew are wrapping up the house and finger crossed that it is DONE soon!  The crazy weather and many little projects have extended the deadline and we are beyond anxious to get our “family life” back.  It is our hope to be in there cleaning this weekend with the house behind us ASAP!

I have also been an excited, busy bee working on some plans for my sisters bachelorette party which is a week from Saturday!  Not sure has time has slipped away so quickly but I am super excited.  Being a surprise, you’ll have to wait for the details following our shindig. Can’t wait!  It’s been a long time coming and we’re sure to have a blast.  I in the meantime need to get on my game and get my menu planned and details finalized!

The following weekend is Laura’s wedding shower.  It’s going to be a celebratory week.  My mom and I have been working on the details for the past few months and I am so excited to see it all come together.  We’ve given up the reigns with the meal and are holding it at Mount Holyoke, Laura’s alma maar but we have several special little details up our sleeve as Laura so deserves this special time.  I promise to share some pictures.  So, if I’m absent or less than predictable with my posts lately, its all for a good cause :)  I just love these kinds of events!
