Mike has been traveling for work this week and I have a HUGE respect for single Moms… It is not easy, even if for just a few days.  Getting all four of us our of the house by 7:15 alone feels like I am trying to direct a three ring circus at times but its all in good fun.  Admittedly, it makes us even more excited for Mike’s return.

Public school germs have already taken their toll on all three of my little men.  Aiden was the first to start with a cold at the end of the week.  Poor Jake started with a fever and wasn’t sleeping (although this is never part of his agenda) Friday night and Chris lost his voice Sunday.  Tis the season!  Thankfully the weathers been nice and we have kept the fresh air flowing!

In light of our germs, we cancelled our plans for Sunday morning and  were bummed to miss Sunday school and sweet Caitlyn’s Baptism.  We did head out to celebrate Dziadzu and GG’s birthdays Sunday afternoon as you can only stay cooped up inside and stay sane for so long.  The boys LOVE their time with Grammie and Dziadzu and it has been far too long since we had ventured to Belchertown.

With Mike being gone, we headed back to Belchertown Monday afternoon to visit some more.  We are so very blessed to have our families so close.  Today Mamie came and picked up the big boys who ventured out to buy some fall decorations for Mamie and Grandpa’s house.  They also managed to find their way to Mrs.’s Murphy’s donuts… lucky ducks!

Jacob turns 5 months old tomorrow.  I am still in denial.  The little man can almost sit up unassisted; loves his walker and can touch the ground with his tippy toes.  He LOVES to make loud noises and does not believe in eating or sleeping.  He watches everything and puts the world in his mouth.  Drool is the new in.  We tried “real” food (aka rice cereal) last Thursday for the first time and it was less than a hit.  It’s funny the things that we take for granted like using a spoon that actually take some time and work to figure out.  Jake is starting to get the hang of opening his mouth and is as messy as can be. The lil man was grabbing the spoon to bring it to this own mouth today so you can only imagine how clean that wasn’t!  He is still without teeth and still getting up every 2 hours to feed through the night (uggh). There’s no parent of the year awards happening here.  We are still in survival mode and he is still bunking with Mike and I in a co-sleeper to save me 100 trips down the hall each night. Selfish but it works!

Aiden and Chris are still settling into a school routine.  They are up and about bright and early but are always less than happy to get dressed in their uniforms and sit down for breakfast.  Once we are on the road, we are good to go but they come home exhausted and testy.  I can only imagine what a full day of school will bring!  They are loving to play pretend, build forts, read and do crafts.  Aiden is still very handy and asking to do chores daily in an attempt to save for a special truck at Target.

I am managing to fill my day with a whole lot of nothing and everything and before I know it, it’s bedtime.  Isn’t that always the case???

Tomorrow we are hoping to tidy up the house before Daddy returns and may even have a few surprises up our sleeve Smile  Pictures to come… My it hasn’t been my month for good luck.  My camera lens broke and I was hopeful it would be fixed.  Unfortunately after 2 weeks of waiting I was told today it was not repairable so I am bummed.  Add to that the fact that while trimming the hedges, I accidently cut through Mikes good outdoor extension cord {that was the end of that one!} and broke my permanent retainer last week while doing… well nothing out of the ordinary.  It’s safe to say, I’m not playing the lottery any time soon!
