As my little man nestled into sleep last night, tucking his legs up and snuggling his soft little doggie blanket, I watched in wonderment. How is it possible, that this tiny little being, so innocent and so dependent will someday be a teenager, a grown man and hopefully an incredible husband and father. At the rate time passes, I know today will feel like just yesterday. There is so much to take in, so many memories to create and so very much to enjoy and this is what life is all about.
I realized this week that I have been holding out on you. We have done several small hikes/walks with the boys and I haven’t shared many of the pictures from our family hike to Northwest Park two weekends ago. The trees were stunning and the trails were surprisingly quiet until we coincidentally bumped into Mikes longtime friend Joe! I was able to sneak some cute pictures which I will share separately as I took THAT many!
The weather these past few weeks has been too incredible to pass up. We had a play date scheduled with the boys buddy from school Mason on Thursday but unfortunately Mason was sick at school and never made it out after. With the sun shining, lunches packed and three high energy boys, I had to take advantage of the opportunity to go alone. So, off to Westmor Park in West Hartford we went. The boys were bummed to be without a special playmate but we enjoyed hiking and exploring some new trails, stopping along the way to look for fish, catch some bugs and enjoy the animals around the farm. Unfortunately Jake was strapped in my front pack and without photo opportunities. He was a happy camper to be front and center in all of the action and loved watching his big brothers at work.
We also enjoyed the killer weather this past weekend. We were thrilled to meet our friends, the Lockes at a corn maze this past weekend. The kids love seeing each other and as all had a blast. Mike was in charge of the camera and if we’re being honest, most of the shots were of my bum! So, among the few to choose from that I snuck in, here are a few of my favorites. I must admit that I adore the first shot of Jesse and Jake. Jesse absolutely dwarfs Jake. It’s hard to believe that there is only 7 months age difference between them!
Amongst our happiness and laughter this week, our hearts go out to the families of four friends who are in need of some extra hugs and prayers this week. You are in our thoughts. oxo
