Today is snowed and it snowed and it snowed. Fourteen inches of powder, a day off from school and two boys excited out of their minds and awake far earlier than normal.
Chris’s interest in the snow was brief. He gets bundled {10 minutes}, gets cold {5 minutes later} and he heads inside {in less time than it took him to get out the door in the first place!}
For Aiden, there was no greater joy than trying to hit Mommy with a snowball. Thankfully I am still quick on my feet and not one to want to get cold and wet! This boy is in love with the winter wonderland and would stay out all day long should we let him.
Please take note of the snowball forming on his head in the later picture, on the left.
And Jake. He thinks snowballs are made to be kicked and he has two hard working older brothers who disagree when Frosty’s life comes to a quick end. He wants to crawl in the snow but doesn’t want to get wet. He’s in Chris’s boat and is ready to pack his bags and move down south where he can find some fresh grass to eat and dirt to roll in.
And lucky Mike, has the option to work from home but had oh so many interested on lookers and helpers. He spent the greater part of the afternoon snow blowing this fluffy stuff.
And me, happy when the kids are happy. A family day can be fun but only when moods cooperate and I’m willing to use every trick in the book… baking, hot cocoa, movies, treats and crafting fun. I may even resort to bribes… shhhh…
And the town plow… guaranteed to KILL a nap!
Tis the season!
