“Zero”

Tonight is Jake’s last night being “zero” as the big boys like to say.  He resisted going to bed and I can’t blame him.  I was happy to rock him and return…. three times.  We’re not forming habits but I needed to savor this last special night and perhaps he knew.

As the mom of a near one year old, it’s bittersweet.  With Aiden and Chris each year brought new excitement and anticipation of the unknown.  Mike and I always wondered what the next year would bring and assumed with age would come… maturity {still waiting…}????  As our last baby grows we are now seasoned enough to know that these moments are all too fleeting, precious and few.  It seems like just yesterday we learned of our expanding family and all too soon we’re celebrating for everyone.  Aiden and Chris have been big brothers and great helpers for a year; Jacob has amazed us for 365 days with the new ray of sunshine he’s added to our family; and Mike and I are celebrating our blessings…. three big, beautiful boys who are full of life!

And tomorrow Jake awakes to the beginning of another amazing year ahead…..
