And….
They’re off. Up before the sun and excited as can be. Not a tear shed but a few held back by Mommy and Daddy. They’re so big, so independent and so ready to conquer the world {or settle for taking over Spaulding Elementary School in the meantime}. Ready for the bus by 7 am with plenty of time for pictures and playing with the neighbor as the bus pick up wasn’t until 7:45. Mike and I were more anxious than they were but I’m thankful that it seemed to go unnoticed.
ur bus driver is as sweet as can be. The bus door opened and Aiden and Chris stood frozen in the driveway, needing reminders to hop on. As they boarded, the driver greeted them by name and asked them to sit in the front {big relief for Mommy!}…. such a sweet, calming thing for anxious parents like ourselves. Mike, Jake and I loaded into the car and waited at the school. We waited and waited and after 30 minutes saw their bus pull up but got distracted by a conversation with the school business manager just long enough to miss the picture of them getting off the bus and walking into school. I’m bummed but I’m sure they’re grateful they’re safe and now we wait for them to arrive home and share the stories of their new school, new teacher, new routine, new friends and new adventures. The world is theirs and they are oh so ready! Slow down big boys, you’re growing up too quick!
