The holidays have kept us busy. We’ve loved our visits with family both near and far. My brother in from Florida, Mike’s siblings from Boston. We celebrated with our extended families, our parents and siblings and spent Christmas morning at home with our littles who woke with several “false”" santa alarms before we agreed to rise at 5 am. The excitement and anticipation were high Christmas morning. Aiden and Chris were thrilled to find Santa treated them to their top requested item, electric scooters and Jake received his own tool bench. Jake was much to excited to stop and open any presents but was lucky to have two willing older brothers to lend a helping hand.
My nephew, Andrew, now four months old was Christened the weekend following Christmas and my brother and I were delighted to be asked to be godparents.
We had a quiet New Years Eve with lots of work going on around the house and my parents, bless their hearts gave up their New Years Day to help us with the kids and projects around the house. Have I mentioned that we have the best families. Seriously though? Grandparents on both sides that give up ANYTHING on a whim without even being asked. Incredible I tell ya.
With nearly two weeks of school vacation, we’ve had a relaxing time. If we’re being honest, I think we are all ready to get back to our routines.
Without further ado, here is a glimpse at the Hopkins happenings over the past few weeks.
Finding the “perfect” Christmas tree (Please excuse me as this may be a repost. Despite two cups of coffee I’m still not functioning at full speed!)
Christmas Eve at Mamie and Grandpa’s with our adorable nieces.
Christmas Eve preparations at home
The excitement of Christmas morning
Aiden and Chris despite admitting to being “naughty” did something right as Santa brought them the electric scooters that they had their hearts set on and Jacob is the proud new owner of a pouf pillow for his room (hence the BIG box) and a tool bench. As you can see from the pictures, the biggest reaction came from the chocolate. Surprise, surprise. Like Mommy like son!
Christmas afternoon at Grammie and Dziadzu’s with this handsome little hunk, Andrew.
Andrew’s baptism. He was a doll!
Our visit with Uncle Danny
Phew – three weeks later but at least I made it before next year’s Christmas post!
