Making it home

I shamefully have stepped away from my routine blog posts just long enough that it seems impossible to catch up!  We are busy in all good ways.   I’ve been thrilled to be working on the sale of our house at 2 Cain Street as well as getting my realtor’s website looking spiffy.  I recently took two fabulous classes for work and have so many ideas of things I’d like to do.  When you’re an independent contractor and your own boss, it can be exciting and scary all at the same time!  I’ll keep you informed as my website takes shape as I’d love your support!

Aiden and Chris are in love with the new neighborhood.  In LOVE!  We are surrounded by kids and have the perfect cul da sac set up to ride around and play like the crazy kiddos that they are.  For the brief instance that we might be inside, they love peeking out the windows to keep us updated on who’s outside playing.  Their socialites for sure!  Jake has also joined their team and can not get enough outdoor play.  They would eat, sleep and live outdoors if they had it their way.

Mike and I are plugging along on projects.  I’ve been on a painting craze with four bedrooms done, our master bath done and kitchen& mudroom done.  I’ve decided to give my hand a rest for a few weeks as we move on to other fun projects.  We are mostly unpacked but lacking the same shelving and storage that we had previously and therefore feeling a bit buried in boxes still.  We’ve got built-ins in the works and LOTS of big dreams for more wood working projects.  It’s starting to feel like home.

Aiden and Chris started t-ball last week.  They meet twice a week and really seem to be enjoying it.  They informed me yesterday that they would like to do every activity possible except girl scouts and cheerleading.  I’m sure Mike will be pleased to hear that.  I on the other hand am on the look out for a taxi!

Jake is talking up a storm.  He repeats like crazy and mimics everyone around him.  This precious little doobie had a nasty fall this week and reinjured his previously stitched lower lip/jaw area.  He breaks my heart and three days later is still quite swollen with a massive gash both inside his mouth and outside his lip but is being a trooper.  He’s one tough cookie.  To top off his terrible weak, we had to take away his pacifiers.  Because of the area of his injury, the Dr. said it wouldn’t heal if he continued to use a pacifier.  It was the worst possible timing when he needed the comfort the most but when you don’t have a choice, you don’t have a choice.  As you’d imagine, it’s been a long few nights and nap times but we’re on day three and hoping it will start to get easier… soon!  He keeps saying “no no nookie” {he called his pacifiers Nuk’s/Nookies}  We cut the tips off and told him they broke.  He picked each up and examined them one by one, four or five times over.  It was as heartbreaking as his injury to watch.

Mike has been busy moving into his space in the basement.  He’s created a wonderful little workshop and is starting to feel organized himself.  He’s been a great sport putting up with my crazy ideas and I count my blessings everyday for the way he provides for our family.

I should have more house pictures to share but shame on me, I keep forgetting before shots.  They will be coming.  I promise!
