Funny as it is, as the school year winds down and the summer nears, the activity level seems to rev up… So many fun things to squeeze in and so little time!

We’ve enjoyed field day,end of the school year classroom celebration, a school performance where Aiden’s class sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Chris’s sang It’s a Small World and are still looking forward to an ice cream social and school play this week.  And phew, if we make it through all of that in less than 2 weeks and aren’t ready for summer than I am certain that our morning commutes, now lasting nearly an hour with traffic {one way!} will be enough to make us thankful for the decisions that we made to be local next year.

I can’t complain… check out these cuties I get to admire each morning… and check out big boy Jake who graduated to his new big boy car seat for the first time this morning. But I must admit that lately on all too many mornings I find myself biting my tongue and filtering my language before the clock strikes 7:30 am!  This was the commute on a “good day!”

In sitting down last night, and looking to the week ahead, I must admit that I am anxious.  Anxious about keeping three busy boys busy enough to stay out of trouble.  Anxious about “no” schedules and new schedules.  Anxious about life as a mom of official grade schoolers and about letting the kiddos grow up.  Don’t get me wrong, on most nights, I’m not loosing sleep over it but the unknown can be a scary world!

While on my way to an appointment tonight, I drove by a church with a sign out front that read “faith does not take away the questions.”  Sometimes life can throw us hardballs and things that are just plain difficult to make sense.  We question and feel alone.  I’m excited to be starting a 9 week study with some fabulous ladies from church tomorrow night.  It’s a Beth Moore study about learning to deal with the “ugly” that life throws our way sometimes and it couldn’t come at a better time.  With so many people to keep close to our hearts lately I’m hoping this study will provide fruitful.  I’ll keep you posted.

Last week I started acupuncture at a community center in Windsor.  I’m going twice a week and am hopeful that it will help with my carpal tunnel and hip pain {or at least buy me some time to swallow the gigantic insurance hit it could bring}.  It’s been a big time commitment but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s worth it.

I was also lucky enough to sneak in a fun walk with my friends Leeanne and Leora and a long awaited and much postponed holiday get together with my dear friend Gina.  Yes, you read that right… holiday get together and we’re not celebrating for the year ahead!  Along with these festivities we had nursery duty at church and a special fourth birthday celebration for our family friend, Connor.  We are rocking and rolling in fun and the days are whizzing by, can you tell?!?
