It’s Friday the 13th but we’re feeling pretty lucky! We’ve got two smarty pants five-year olds who just completed their second successful year of school. Who would have guessed these boys would be practicing cursive, reading words and mastering addition and subtraction in the thousands?!? Their true love for learning and interest in figuring out the why’s, who’s and how’s is super fun. I may find myself explaining everything and not just once but twice but they are piecing their world together and making sense of the simple things most take for granted and for that, I am one proud {and sometimes talked out} Momma!
Check out these soon to be kindergarteners with a case of the sillies!
And meet Mrs. Jenn, Aiden’s teacher for the last two years. How cute are they? She is just the right combo of sweet and sassy with plenty of experience and two boys of her own.
And here is Chris with his classmates and dear teacher, Ms. Jacki {who I must add has the patience of a saint!} This is a glimpse of their ice cream celebration that we joined them for yesterday and Chris being recognized for his two great years of work with well wishes in his new school.
These boys are a growin!
And my little man, he cracks me up. After two weeks of stinky, long commutes with endless lines of traffic and lots and lots of rain, his giggles were enough to remind me that life is good great! See this little face in my rearview mirror. This little man’s favorite thing to say is “whatzthat?” When driving to pick the boys up one afternoon this week, I hear “whatzthat?” After running through a long list of options, listing everything in sight, nothing seemed to suffice. Little did I consider that he was asking about the windshield wipes because for the first time this week, Jake is facing forward in a big boy car seat. The sights and sounds of an ordinary car ride are taking on a whole new meaning for this little man and he was in love, giggling away at the windshield wipes. It’s the little things!
And just for fun today, we decided to be spontaneous. Instead of heading home after school, we headed to the mall to check out the grand opening events at the new Lego Store and what a grand time we had! Aiden and Chris were able to make a piece for this Ninja Turtle display themselves!
We may have even snuck in the boys first experience at Mrs. Field’s… Safe to say it was a hit x 3!
