Weekly Update

This afternoon was our final Marvelous Multiples Class at Baystate.  We were lucky enough to walk through the Neonatal Unit which they now also call the "Continued Care Unit."  It was truly amazing how small some of the babies were and the vast number of babies that occupied all of the "pods."  Previously I would have been surprised to find more than 2 or 3 babies but was quite shocked to see over 20 babies in the unit today!  Our teacher remarked that this has been a busy birthing week although this is not typically a standard busy time of the year.  We couldn't even find a parking spot for our class if that says anything!

Our class went well.  We saw a c-section video of triplets.   Seeing the video only reinforces even more how pleased I would be to have the option of having a vaginal delivery.  The videos are always SO graphic and the video we saw today may even be considered repulsive.  Not to be overly graphic but the Dr.'s were pulling the babies out of the woman's stomach with as much force and lack of grace as you pull the gizzard bags out of turkeys at Thankgiving.  After seeing that video it is hard to believe that woman can't feel anything and are up and about only days later and actually have the stomach to want to eat!  Okay, enough talk about that.

We are on week 31 and I continue to feel great.  Mike did our weekly stretch mark check and so far so good.  I only wonder how much longer that may last :)  I continue to have a healthy appetite and sadly enough am still not much fun when it comes to cravings.  Although, if we're being honest - I am still madly in love with the idea of having a mouthwatering turkey grinder from Checkers Deli as soon as those babies make their appearance!

The floors in the hallway came out great!  I was the first to "break in" the new floors today when I dropped an end table and and made my mark... Darn it!  At least I can't be mad at anyone else.  We are trying, or should I say, I am trying desperately to preserve the new sheen and CLEAN floors by keeping our shoes off!  I hate the idea of having to get on my hands and knees as I continue to get bigger to scrub and polish them.  I think one of the things that Mike is most looking forward to with the boys coming is that fact that I am going to have to lighten up and roll with the punches.  I will fully admit that it one of my faults and know that having two babies can only help in teaching me art of letting loose.

This week our only exciting baby event is another class.  Mike and I are taking the "Happiest Baby Class" on Tuesday night at Baystate.  Who can pass up the opportunity to have a happy baby??? Not us!
