Above: The boys getting some fresh air on the porch yesterday enjoying the 70 degree weather in late October!
I am the latest and greatest Boogie Momma. Yes, that's right! Not sure if I am proud of it but since I have been wiping two unwilling toddlers noses for going on 4 days, my life has revolved around tissues.
This has truly been a week of absolute nothing. As you know from my opening line, the boys have been fighting their first official cold which has been worsening as the week progresses. Mike was traveling for work at the beginning of the week and my dad has graciously been spending time with the boys and I. Grammie Hopkins also came over for her usual visit yesterday morning and getting out of the house meant even more to me since I had been home alone with the boys for two days. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to having Mike back tonight. I think the boys are going through Daddy withdrawal, not seeing him since Sunday so I am sure they are more anxious than me!
We have cancelled all play dates this week and have yet to return to play school. The play school coordinator called me last night and I expressed my concerns about returning. She was fabulous and reassured me that the students don't mind kiddos that need their Momma's to stay so we hope to be back at the beginning of next week. I am hoping for more of a social life next week. I am also hoping for a healthy Halloween weekend so we got 2 more days of R & R with our fingers crossed for healthy firemen on Saturday and Sunday!
So aside from recovering this week, the boys have loved reading, putting together wooden puzzles and playing dress up with their winter hats and mittens. Their favorite book this week is one that Auntie Laura gave them last year called "10 Trick or Treaters." It's been fun for Aiden and Chris because there are 10 characters dressed up as different figures. They love to point to them and make the appropriate noises or say the words if they are able. In one picture of a mummy, Aiden asked for several says "diz-it?" Each time I replied mummy and we went on with the story. This week, Aiden is now pointing to the picture of the mummy, saying "mommy!" Could life with their mommy be getting that scary?
PS – I chose this font because it looked a little spooky for Halloween! Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone and be sure to come back and visit Sunday for some holiday pictures!
