It’s been a great week! Holiday music is in the air, the decorations are beginning to fill the house and I have so many projects that I look forward to doing in preparation. Its been a quiet week as this cold still has the best of me and I don’t want to share my germs. Thankfully Aiden and Chris seem to be getting better {although they are still finding reasons to wake up in the middle of the night. Planned newborn prep?}
Today we dove into some Christmas crafts and made our first salt dough ornaments of the year. The boys love painting so we have another busy afternoon ahead once they are done baking. I love these kinds of projects! Especially when they want to make cute shapes like the American flag, pumpkins and boots that you know will look ridiculous on the tree but will be made with so much love.
I have to share my funny story of the week. We have a drawer in our kitchen where we keep pens, note pads tape, etc. The boys are always drawn to the draw and love sticky notes {both creating and stealing those that belong to Mike and I."} Aiden peeked in the drawer this week and said “hey Mommy, when did we get the new Christmas chap stick?” As I came in for a closer look, I couldn’t help but laugh. Thankfully the “new Christmas chap stick {below}” had not been tried yet…. or it would have been a very quiet household. Sometimes its easy to forget the simplistic view of a 3 year old!
I’m excited to get out for a brisk walk tonight with good friends. Its always so fun to catch up and get some fresh air and I am savoring all of the exercise I can get now before the snow and icy make outdoor adventures a bad idea….
