Not bad, two postings in two days! I wanted to share our weekend with you as it was action packed and full of fun.
Friday morning I volunteered with my friend Alanna in Christopher’s class. We had a blast making treats for the birds for the holidays and were so entertained by the chitter chatter and stories of the 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Jake was in his glory, hanging out in my front pack, enjoying all of the sights and sounds of the big kids and Chris was as proud as can be!
Friday afternoon Aiden’s class met up at a trampoline place in Hartford. The kids had a blast, burnt a ton of energy and I was impressed by how clean, well organized and spacious the place was. Its always neat the see the kids interacting with classmates outside of their classrooms and they loved exploring and doing something new. It was the perfect activity for a rainy Friday afternoon and such a safe place to “let boys be boys.”
Friday night my beau I headed out…. alone…We met a group of friends and were generously treated to a benefit for Christina’s House, a shelter for homeless women and children in Springfield. While the weather turned wintery, we had a blast dressing up, feeling special and enjoying the company of good friends and family. The boys spent the night at my parents and I headed there in the wee hours of the night, while Mike headed home and took advantage of a quiet house and the chance to get a few chores done. Jake had his first bedtime experience without Mike or I and while he shed a tear, he did much better than I anticipated and Grammie and Dziadzu were fantastic sports!
We packed up and headed our early Saturday morning to Worcester to meet up with Auntie Laura who invited us to join her for her work party. Aiden and Chris had a blast and took advantage of all of the activities. They met Santa, did crafts, balloon animals, decorated cookies, ate goodies and even got tattoos! I always look forward to seeing Laura and Eric and the visits always end way too soon. We followed Auntie Laura home and visited for a while before heading back to CT for the live nativity that our church puts on every year. It was cold but a day filled with love and special holiday memories.
Our weekend adventures continued with church Sunday morning. Mike and I had nursery duty and it was a full house! Lots of kids, lots of noise, lots of crying and lots of poopy diapers. Dreamy as you might have guessed… We also finished up our final night of small group with our friends from church doing the parenting study.
It was a weekend that left us wondering where the time went which is always a good sign! Lot’s more to share as I upload and sift through our photos of the past month. Happy almost weekend!
