One week remains

The final week of summer 2015 is upon us. Next week at this time, we will be settling in for our first official “school night” with two first graders.  I thought getting used to the idea of saying I had kindergarteners was going to be hard but man oh man, it never gets easier.  The boys are excited to see their friends and meet their new classmates.  Jake and I are excited to be joining some new playgroups this fall and starting our new normal and I’m excited to be embarking on formal Coldwell Banker training.  It will be a month of firsts for all of us.  We’re all creatures of habit so fingers crossed for smooth transitions.

This past weekend we celebrated my sweet nephew’s first birthday.  Andrew was as jolly as can be!  Aiden, Chris and I spent the night Friday at my parents before meeting Mike and Jake to travel to Rutland.  The boys adore the cousin and it’s always special to see Laura and Eric and ohh and ahh over all the projects that they’ve been working on.

Sunday I had nursery duty and after lunch and Jake’s nap we headed out to explore Granville State Forest.  It was breath taking and more than we had imagined.  The trails were well manicured and we lucked out with perfect weather.  All three boys were in their glory.  They were meant to spend their days carefree and wandering the woods.  Truly, these boys are their happiest when they’re with family or lost deep in their own little worlds of exploration. While it was a bit of a drive, one thing is for certain, we will be back.  And the icing on the cake….  We stopped at the cutest little shop, the Granville General Store.  What a step back in time.  Delicious ice cream and an adorable setting.  Next time I’ll remember my camera.  In the meantime, I’m dreaming of stealing the idea and opening my own sweet spot like theirs. A girl can dream, right?!?
